Nellie

Terms of Use

Last updated October 25, 2026

Nellie helps you understand restaurant menus. Please read the safety section — it matters.

1. Nellie is not medical advice

Nellie uses AI to estimate which dishes might contain ingredients you avoid. AI can misread a menu, miss a hidden ingredient or be wrong about how a restaurant prepares a dish. Recipes change, kitchens share equipment, and menus are often incomplete.

2. Using Nellie

You may use Nellie for your personal, non-commercial use. Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer it, and no uploading of content you don't have the right to use. Shared links are public to anyone who has them — don't include anything you wouldn't want others to see.

3. Purchases

Nellie offers a free tier with a daily scan allowance and a one-time "Nellie Unlimited" purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's terms; refunds are handled by Apple. Features and limits may change over time, but we won't take away what a lifetime purchase unlocks without a comparable replacement.

4. License

The app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, together with these terms. If they conflict, these terms apply to the extent allowed.

5. No warranty and limitation of liability

Nellie is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any harm resulting from relying on Nellie's estimates instead of confirming with restaurant staff. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

6. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use Nellie after an update means you accept it.
